For their new office space in Hoboken, NJ, the team at Lipton had a specific look in mind. The design concept was based on an overseas location, but a reboot was needed for local branding. The Lipton team also emphasized the company’s high standards for quality. It was important for them to know that their workspace’s furnishings would enhance their local identity while meeting the highest standards of functionality and aesthetics.

For this project, Lipton’s leaders had a clear vision that tied together branding, aesthetics, and their ideal work environment. Lipton worked with several key partners to develop their office space, led by their real estate project manager, CBRE, along with Kimmerle Group and SJP Project Solutions.

BFI’s role was to identify furniture solutions that would help bring the design vision to life. Thanks to our extensive experience in major office space projects, we were able to put forth ideas that exceeded expectations. To advance from a concept to a plan, we collaborated with Lipton’s designer to review programming and formulate several options for each design requirement.

BFI proposed a furnishing solution that achieved Lipton’s vision, met their quality standards, and stayed within the project’s budget. The proposal relied on a small number of trusted suppliers to create a consistent look and feel throughout the workspace. Working with Lipton’s designer, we considered various options for each design category, and then collaboratively finalized the product selections.

Furnishings for Lipton’s new office space featured seating, tables, and workspaces from two preferred brands: Herman Miller and Knoll. Stone surfaces were sourced from Nevers Industries.

Throughout the layout, the new furnishings create a distinct sense of place. This is achieved through the repetition of branded elements, curved lines, and a coordinated black, tan, and white color scheme. Complementing these colors, Lipton’s branded products stand out brightly, creating a fresh, upbeat aesthetic.

Lipton’s office space benefits from plenty of natural light and open space. The new furniture arrangements make the most of these advantages. The rooms are uncluttered, yet cozy. Window exposure, open footpaths, and efficient use of space are emphasized to provide a mix of collaborative workspaces, individual stations, and social areas.

This collaboration was a gratifying experience for both Lipton and BFI. The finished product is a beautiful, on-brand, fresh-feeling space. The BFI team was on-site when Lipton’s employees had their first look at their new workspace. Everyone was smiling and positive as they took in the surroundings. The staff was happy with the pleasant, comfortable atmosphere of their new working environment.

The Lipton team is pleased that their new office space so perfectly mirrors the vision they had in mind. The layout and furnishings effectively capture the company’s iconic branding while creating a space that’s also fresh and new.
